I have more than 20 years of lived experience navigating the healthcare system to receive proper care and advocating for coverage for compression garments. I have a Bachelor of Science in Health Services Administration in 2009 and a Master of Science in Health Law in 2015. I was selected as 2014 Lymph Science Advocacy Program participate for the National Lymphedema Network and worked as their Director of Communications. I’ve been a member of Lymphedema Advocacy Group since 2015, served as Board Chair from April 2019 - May 2024, working with multiple stakeholders to pass and implement the Lymphedema Treatment Act. I was awarded the 2014 Obesity Action Coalition Member of the Year. I have spoken at numerous conferences and shared my story in several national publications. I served on the National Board of Directors for the Obesity Action Coalition from January 2015 through April 2024, I co-chaired the Access to Care Committee. I am currently working as Advocacy Consultant for the OAC, assisting in engaging, training, and mobilizing advocates to take action on state and federal policies. I am well known and respected as a resource in both the obesity and lymphedema/lipedema community. I am not a Diplomate of ABOM or a recipient of the OMA Certificate of Advanced Clinical Education.
